Position title: Project and Operations Coordinator

Job summary: The Project and Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing all office operations and administration, fund development, and assisting the Education Program Coordinator with facilitation and program development. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Position details: This position is a 40 hrs/week, $32,000/yr – $35,000/yr (commensurate with experience) staff position with benefits, including medical and dental.

Location: Downtown Vancouver and travel within BC
Desired start date: June 1, 2011

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate projects
• Deliver workshops related to social and environmental justice
• Develop workshops, educational resources and activities
• Grant writing and reporting duties
• Develop and update print and online outreach materials
• Maintain and update website
• Oversee and supervise office operations and services
• Manage and process office procedures (including invoicing, paying bills, bank deposits, and liaising with vendors, clients and bookkeeper)
• Maintain budget and cash flow for the organization
• Initiate and manage fundraising and donor development such as direct mail, online and other forms of fundraising
• Supervise, review and evaluate new and current administrative procedures
• Liaise with board of directors to organize board meetings

Qualifications / Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of educational or professional experience in social and environmental justice
• Program coordination experience
• Workshop facilitation and development experience
• Experience facilitating youth, ages 13 — 30
• Experience in an office environment
• Working knowledge and commitment to the principles of anti-oppression and decolonization from an intersectional approach
• Strong computer skills (proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Macintosh OS, and database management)
• Minimum 2 years experience managing budgets and performing financial duties
• Experience writing funding proposals
• Fundraising experience
• Positive attitude, flexibility and creativity, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ease of public speaking
• Ability to work on several projects at the same time
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Valid BC drivers license desirable
