1.Trainee Fireman, 3 months duration, (SSKIA 5
positions, F/Town 8 positions, Maun 4 positions, Kasane 6 positions)- Vacancy
No.38 of 2013

Selected candidates will undergo a 3 months (12 weeks)
Aviation Firemanship Training. Upon successful completion of the programme
candidates will be appointed as Aviation
Fire Fighters in various airports.

1.1.Purpose of the Job
Saves lives and property during aircraft accidents,
responds to emergency calls, operates rescuing equipment and provides
communication network in the watch room at an airport.

1.2.Qualifications
•Cambridge School Certificate (COSC) or BGCSE with
passes in English, Mathematics and Science.

2.Aviation Security Assistant Trainee (SSKIA 19 positions,
Maun 10 positions, F/Town 5 positions, Kasane 5 positions)- Vacancy No.37 of
2013

Selected candidates will undergo a 3 months (12
weeks) Aviation Security Training. Upon successful completion of the programme
candidates will be appointed as Aviation Security Assistants in various
airports.

2.1.Purpose Of the Job
To protect the safety of passengers, crew,
property, staff and general public from acts of unlawful interference, through
controlling of access points, guarding, patrolling and carrying out other
security activities.

2.2.Qualifications
•Cambridge certificate with passes in Mathematics
and English

3.Aeronautical Information Services Officer (8
positions at different stations)- Vacancy No.36 of 2013

3.1.Purpose of the Job
Promote air safety by keeping pilots well informed
and up to date on matters that will affect normal operations as well as
up-to-date documents which are relevant from the international Civil Aviation
Organization

3.2.Qualifications
•A minimum of Cambridge O’level Certificate and the
successful completion of a course in Aeronautical Information Services or
Communications Operations.
•At least 2 years as an Assistant Aeronautical
Information Services Officer or an Assistant Communications Operations Officer
is required.

3.3.Competencies
•Ability to deal with various internal and external
customers, operators and Government and International Agencies
•Good communication skills and interpersonal
relations.

3.4.Salary Scale: Band 3 (P86,487 – P114,118 per
anum)

4.Business Development Officer (SSKIA, 1 position)-
Vacancy No.35 of 2013

4.1.Purpose of the Job
To be responsible for monitoring commercial
tenancies within airports to ensure compliance with the commercial and services
level agreements, thereby ensuring smooth functioning of all commercial
activities at the airports.

4.2.Qualifications
•A Diploma in Marketing and or Business
Administration, a Degree is however preferred.

4.3.Experience
•At least 5 years relevant experience for a Diploma
holder in a leading commercial entity.
•Degree holders should have a minimum of 2 years
relevant experience. Aviation experience will be an added advantage.

4.4.Salary Scale: Band 5 (P163,286 – P195,142 per
annum)

5.Approach Non-Radar Control Officer (F/town 1
position) – Vacancy No.34 of 2013

5.1.Purpose of the Job
To provide Approach Control Services to all
aircraft handed over to the ATCO from the aerodrome control unit during the
initial phase of flight until handed over to the area control unit: as well as
all arriving aircraft from the area control until the aircraft transfer to the
aerodrome control unit. The Approach Control Unit’s area of jurisdiction covers
an airspace from 20-65NM laterally from the airport and vertically from 5500ft
to 24500ft above mean sea level.

5.2.Qualifications
•A minimum of a Cambridge O’Level Certificate, In
addition, a valid air traffic control License endorsed with Aerodrome and
Approach Control Ratings and Class 3 Medical Certificate

5.3.Experience
•At least 3 years as an Air Traffic Control Officer
IV including thorough Knowledge of ICAO SARPs, Local ATC procedures. GNSS and
RNAV approaches and Aviation legal instruments of Botswana

5.6.Competencies
•Ability to organize resources so as to accomplish
objectives and goals
