Summary
To provide independent, objective assurance and consultancy services to add
value and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance
processes for Debswana projects by conducting Risk based internal audits on the
annual approved audit coverage plan covering the Project cycle. The incumbent
will also be expected to come up with an annual Risk based audit plan. The
coverage will primarily be large projects (category 3 and 4) and selected small
projects for Board reporting (category 1 and 2) both on Horizon 1 and 2 of the
current strategy. The incumbent will be required to travel between sites from
time to time in executing their role.

- ACCA,
CIMA, or equivalent Or Engineering (industrial, Chemical, Mining) /
Finance Degree or equivalent plus CIA qualification - A
formal project management qualification will be advantageous (e.g. PMP) - 8
years post qualification experience - 5
years relevant experience in a projects environment would be an advantage - Minimum
– Associate member of IIA/BICA /ACCA/CIMA /engineering professional
institute/association - Advanced

Activities
- Developing
an annual internal audit plan based on assessment of significant risks and
an assurance framework covering operations (cat 1 and 2) and capital
projects (cat 3 and 4) - Planning
for each audit assignment by conducting risk assessment, preparing audit
scope, objectives, budget and audit programme. - Implementing
the audit plan through execution of audits using the approved audit
methodology and in compliance with best practice / auditing standards to
ensure value add to the business. - Preparing
the audit report, discussing audit findings and recommendations with
management and taking appropriate action as necessary to enable finalization
and sign off of the report. - Monitoring
allocated audit resources to ensure compliance to audit project objectives
and completion of the auditor’s portfolio of audits - Providing
guidance and advice to management and staff and promoting awareness of
ethics, governance, controls and risk management through various forums. - Preparing
audit files which conform to the requirements of professional standards
for review by the Head of Audit Services. - Initiating,
monitoring and controlling short term ADHOC assignments to ensure
attainment of desired results.
