CRANE
ASSISTANTS x 3

From 220 ton to 650 ton
Job
Summary

To assist and be able to assemble and setup Mobile Hydraulic Cranes and its
components i.e., counter weights, assembly and disassembly of luffer on the
various. Also be able to do basic maintenance on the cranes i.e., greasing of
ropes
Requirements
Main
responsibilities
  • Competent
    person with the required training and experience to perform his /her
    duties. This person will be working direct with the crane operator to
    assemble the crane and assist with daily lifting activities and
    maintenance of the crane.
  • Be
    able to use devices which is used or design to directly connect a load to
    a crane and which does not form part of a load (e.g. Wire rope slings,
    chain sling, man-made fibre slings, hook and lifting, swivels shackles,
    eye bolts, rigging screws, wedges sockets, plat clamps and lifting beams.)
  • Also
    be able to perform:
  • Daily
    Checks/check lists:
  • The
    following needs to be checked daily Brake Fluid, Cooling Fluid, Engine Oil
    Check, the automatic gear box once per week. Check the hydraulic oil
    levels once per week. Check the tyre pressures once per week
Qualification,
Experience and Attributes
  • Two
    years relevant working experience with cranes and lifting equipment.
  • The
    candidate will be in possession of an accredited certificate of competence
    as required.
  • The
    candidate will have a proven track record on the same or similar site
    environment.
  • A
    proven ability on Driven Machinery Regulation 18 “
  • To
    complete the timesheet book accurately and the client to sign on
    completion of every shift
  • At
    all times safe working procedures and standard operating procedures must
    be followed.
  • Basic
    rigging and first aider training are an added advantage.

contracting in structural steel, mechanical, plate work, and piping, The
Company has been awarded a contract for the Structural, Mechanical, Piping and
Plate Work (SMPP) for the Letlhakane Mine Tailings Resource Treatment Plant.
