As our Central Trader you will report to the CFO, responsible for maximizing Jameson Bank’s competitive place in the market and mitigating market risk for the institution. As Corporate Traders commit deals through a trading day, the Central Trader’s objective is to efficiently manage the house position. You will strictly adhere to Jameson’s Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk Management, Foreign Exchange Risk, Capital Management, Interest Rate Risk, and other policies governing business practice and behaviour. You will also be an active participant on the Asset Liability Committee (ALMAC).
In this role you will market the business and interact with Traders to build & develop Jameson’s business. With a strong market and client understanding and drive you will exceed the expectations of our clients.
Ideally, you offer the following knowledge, skills and experience:
• University Degree, Commerce, Business or Economics preferred
• Minimum 5 years experience in FX trading; a Trader with FX product knowledge and sufficient technical ability to be able to handle the pricing / analytics aspects of trading
• Must demonstrate flexibility, strong commitment to meeting deadlines, and solid decision-making skills
• Self-motivator with ability to work independently
• Good knowledge of the client base, ideally experienced in marketing to other banks
• In-depth knowledge of foreign exchange products
• Ability to increase penetration of existing clients, enhance clients’ understanding of products offered
• Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with external and internal clients
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent English speaking skills required, other spoken languages would be an advantage
