Salary/Hourly Rate: 16.48$/hour – 15 to 25 hours per week – Max. 4000$
Description/Scope:
Part of the CSU’s mandate is to produce educational materials for its
members on issues relevant to students and related to its campaigns
and mandates. The CSU Campaigns Researcher will be responsible for
research, which will be utilized in
the production of flyers,
pamphlets, and other popular education documents relevant to campaigns
under the supervision of the VP External Affairs and Mobilization.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the VP External Affairs and Mobilization and the
CSU Campaigns Coordinator, this person will:
• outreach to outside organizations to gather relevant information –
research information to be used in CSU pamphlets, flyers, info-graphs,
and educational materials
• assist in the composition of flyers, pamphlets, reports, and other
informational materials required for outreach with external bodies or
for campaign purposes (FEUQ, CSU Council, etc).
• perform other related duties
Essential Requirement(s):
• Passionate and well-informed about politics and important societal issues
• Ability to think analytically and critically
• Ability to produce high quality research
• Outstanding written skills
• General knowledge of Quebec politics
• General knowledge of developments in the climate justice movement,
national security issues, and human rights issues
• Forward thinking
Asset(s):
• Previous experience researching and producing informational material
on social, environmental, or economic issues
• Experienced with office technology
• Excellent organizational skills
• Fluently bilingual for the purpose of reading both French and
English documents
• Team player
