Camp Winston ,Staff Instructor/Camp Counsellor Jobs in Canada

a residential recreational summer camp for
children with complex neurological disorders such as Tourette
Syndrome, Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder, Learning
Disabilities, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder and/or other Anxiety Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Our caring staff provides physical and emotional safety in a
residential camp setting to allow campers to learn and have fun!

Applicants need to be caring, energetic, strong team players, and be
prepared to work hard and have fun.

Previous experience working with children and/or individuals with
special needs, working in a camp setting and having some
post-secondary education are assets.

The Canoe Activity Instructor will be responsible for planning and
facilitating Canoe/Paddle sports activities for Camp Winston’s
Canoeing programs. Activities should be fun, inclusive, and engaging
for children aged 7-13. Additional assets include experience or
qualification in:
• Experience in a variety of paddle sports (canoeing, kayaking, paddle
boarding);
• Experience leading camping trips;
• Coaching groups of children in a recreational setting;
• Valid ORCKA certification;
• NLS is an asset, but not required.

Camp Winston staff members are usually college and/or university
students and professional, mature adults, from a variety of fields
that include: education, social work, psychology, recreation, child
and youth work, and health care.

Camp Winston staff members are committed to helping campers discover
and develop their strengths, abilities and talents while teaching
essential social and life skills.
