Progressive Media
Group Inc., a GTA web solutions company established in 2003, is seeking
freelance Web Designers to work on a contract basis for our corporate e-card
division. Candidates are expected to work off-site from their home or own
office. This contract position starts in late-Aug
ust and lasts until
December 31st, 2015 with the possibility of extension. The
position starts with a paid, part-time training period of 2-3 sessions carried
out in our Markham office (404 & Hwy 7). A session can last anywhere
from 2-4 hours. Once training is complete, the position moves on to a
work-from-home, per-project basis.

- Complete
projects involving the re-branding of our template corporate e-cards - Image
manipulation (e.g. basic color correction, cropping and exporting) - Work
closely with project managers to accomplish the design goals of clients - Work
closely with sales management - Other
design tasks as required - Work
off-site from home or own office
The ideal
candidate will have the following:
- Resides
in GTA or surrounding areas. - Looking
to supplement their existing work-load/income with our projects. - At
least 3 years of professional web design experience. - A
computer that meets or exceeds the specifications outlined in the section
following this one. - Strong
knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop. - Beginner
to Intermediate Knowledge and experience with Adobe Flash. - Strong
knowledge and experience working with HTML and CSS/CSS2/CSS3 - Strong
communication skills - Strong
skills using web applications and web-based email - Highly
organized and highly proficient. - Knowledge
and experience with other Adobe Creative Suite Applications - Knowledge
and experience using FTP - Friendly
and professional - Comfortable
working both as an individual and in a team environment - Experience
in working with deadlines
The ideal
candidate’s computer must have the following specifications:
- Windows
7, 8 or 10 based PC. - At
least 8 GB of RAM. - Video
card with at least 2 GB of on-board RAM. - Adobe
Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash in CS5.5, CS6 or CC. - 300-400
GB of available Hard-drive space. - Familiar
with Dropbox. - Okay
with leaving their computer on overnight and on weekends to allow
file syncing at any time.
Although not
a requirement, the ideal candidate may have one or more of the following:
- Knowledge
and experience using Adobe Flash ActionScript 2.0 - Knowledge
and experience working with audio and basic audio editing tools - Knowledge
and experience working with Adobe Illustrator - Knowledge
and experience using JavaScript and XML - Knowledge
and experience using PHP
