are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our Communications
team as we work to improve the lives of animals globally.

World Animal Protection is seeking a Communications Coordinator. Please note
that French/English fluency will be considered a major asset.

Reporting to the Communications Director, the Communications Coordinator
supports media relations work and is responsible for day-to-day web and social
media posting. This position is also responsible for audience growth
initiatives through French language and multicultural stakeholder outreach.

Responsibilities
• Proactive and reactive media relations in English and French
• Develops and maintain contacts within blogger community and among online
influencers
• Executes World Animal Protection’s social media strategy
• Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure digital channels are
fresh and brand compliant in both English and French
• Collaborates with Digital Marketing Manager on enewsletter strategies
• Writes/edits content in both English and French for print and online
newsletters, social media, websites, supporter actions and celebrity relations
materials
• Supports donor stewardship team with content creation and reporting
• Monitors, analyses and reports on media activity nationally, regionally and
internationally

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (PR, communications or related)
• Fluent English and French speaking and written is a major asset
• 2 years of experience in Communications, media relations or PR
• 2 years of experience doing social media engagement in both English and
French
• Above average ability to write compelling web, social and digital content
• Knowledge of Hootsuite important
• Knowledge of website content management systems (especially Drupal) important
• Some knowledge of HTML, CSS and Adobe Creative Suite an asset
• Above average interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills, very
strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Able to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment
