to ensure that we deliver the best
final product to our viewers. Employees working for the MétéoMédia operations
will communicate in French between the Montreal and Oakville offices.

The Senior Producer
is responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of audio and
video content for all platforms of MétéoMédia (TV, web, mobile, and TV apps).
With the help of your immediate supervisor, you must ensure the day-to-day
management of our programming and the optimal development of our content on our
various platforms; this includes any other opportunities that arise in the
future.

Specifically, you
are required to stay informed of the weather conditions, follow Programming
objectives and guidelines (i.e. knowing who our audience is, etc.) and
coordinate the production of weather and news content accordingly. This
includes working closely with the Technical Directors and News Writers to
ensure that the team updates content when necessary and in a timely manner, and
maintains the credibility, accuracy and professionalism on all produced
segments. You must also coordinate the work of all the Content Producers
associated to the MétéoMédia programming.

Your overall goal is
to multi-purpose our content and increase our ratings on TV, as well as improve
the audio and video content across the other mediums.

The Job: A
day in the life of a Senior Producer:

  • Responsible
    for the MétéoMédia TV platform editorial content and supplying the other
    platforms for their video needs
  • Increase
    ratings by the production of relevant and quality content
  • Plan,
    oversee and take responsibility for all aspects of the content, ensuring
    high standards are met and exceeded
  • Coach,
    train, and evaluate the employee (s) of his team (MM presenter in
    Oakville) so that they are able to provide a work according to the
    established standards
  • Manage,
    lead and coordinate a team of on-air Presenters, ENG Editor, News Writers
    and Graphic Artists, as well as work very closely with the Technical
    Director. Take an active role in dealing with personnel issues and
    conducting timely performance evaluations
  • Ensure
    the continuity of the week and weekend broadcast content
  • Coordinate
    the programming teams during active weather
  • Coordinate
    with the TWN editorial broadcast content
  • Responsible
    for operating some of our specific equipment such as Baron and others,
    etc.
  • Work
    with the Technical Directors to conduct regular air checks
  • Continuously
    monitor information sources (newspapers, Internet, news wire and video
    feeds, etc.) and weather data to ensure the accurate, credible and timely
    presentation and production of news and weather content
  • Extra
    work during active weather may be required
  • Conduct
    daily pre- and post-show meetings with your team

Roles,
responsibilities and duties may evolve and change over time

You:

  • College
    diploma or university degree in Communications/Journalism/Television
    Production
  • Minimum
    5 years of experience as a Television Producer or Director (television
    news preferred)
  • Bilingualism
    is essential (French/English)

What makes
