Free The

seeks an Associate
Director, Business Development to join its Business Development
Team.
There is a three (3)
month probationary period, upon reaching the three (3) month period, all staff
members are offered a health plan including dental and Employee Assistance
Program. The position is based out of Free the Children’s office in Toronto
(233 Carlton Street).

Responsibilities:
- Identify,
research, and prospect new sponsorship opportunities and partnerships
across all We Day markets within North America - In
conjunction with the Head, Global Business Development, Free The Children,
develop and implement the strategy for Canadian and US sponsorship and new
business - Oversee
the Manager of Canadian Business Development on all sponsorship
opportunities within Canada - Foster
relationships with prospective corporate donors at all levels - In
conjunction with the Corporate Engagement & Grants team, research and
develop presentations and proposals to secure new partnerships - Significant
travel to deliver in-person presentations with prospective sponsors to
secure new partnerships - Work
closely with the Associate Director of Sponsorship Activation to develop
the sponsorship activations for current partners - Accountability
of a complex multi-million dollar matrix with the responsibility to help
develop and implement the strategies to achieve these targets - Help
lead the implementation of strategy for the reengagement of existing
sponsors in conjunction with the Partnership Relations team - Close
collaboration with the various Regional Offices and Development team to
ensure a cohesive and effective business development strategy for North
America - Support
in managing significant donor and corporate files - Communicate
knowledgably and professionally to donor base, addressing inquiries about
international programs and account summaries - Attend
and represent the organization at fundraising and networking events - Attend
all We Day events within Canada and where appropriate, international We
Day events
Reporting
and Relationships:
- This
position will reside within the Free The Children Business Development
Team, and will also work closely with the Sponsorship Activation and
Partner Relations teams - The
Associate Director, Business Development, Free The Children will report
directly to the Head, Global Business Development, Free The Children - This
position will work closely and collaborate the various Directors on the
Business Development team
Skills and
Qualifications:
- Possess
a degree/qualification, preferably in business administration, marketing,
or a related field with a minimum of four years working experience - Highly
self – motivated and independent, a strategic thinker - Proven
experience in fundraising, sponsorship, sales, or corporate partnerships - Strong
oral communication and presentation skills - Experience
managing a team of staff or volunteers - Detail
oriented with strong attention to effective task completion - Strong
inter-personal skills - Enjoys
working in a demanding, fast paced work environment and flexible with work
hours - Able to
perform well and problem solve in high stress, dynamic and changing
situations - Detail
oriented with strong attention to effective task completion - Flexible
and adaptable to change - Comfortable
working with and delegating to senior management - Comfortable
working with external stakeholders - Positive
and professional attitude and able to work as a team player - Excellent
time management, organization and multi-tasking skills - Sound
understanding of and experience working with Microsoft Office Suites
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Experience
working with Salesforce is an asset - Fluency
in French and Spanish is beneficial but not required - Ability
to work closely with high level sponsors and corporate partners with the
highest level of professionalism - Ability
to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
