ME to WE is seeking
a Director to oversee the eCommerce & Retail channels. The candidate would
be responsible for driving significant growth across channels of business that
are direct to consumer:

  • eCommerce
    ME to WE online shop website
    • The
      Fundraising Channel is driven through eCommerce and through Free the
      Children’s WE School fundraising program, Trips fundraising and other
      fundraising sales opportunities
  • The
    Retail Channel includes permanent bricks & mortar retail, temporary
    retail pop-up shops and traveling kiosks (inclusive of high-profile
    stakeholder events)
    • We
      Day’s concert-style tour merchandise and We Day related events are an
      extension of the Retail Channel

Reporting to the
Chief Operating Director and CEO, the Director of eCommerce & Retail will
be responsible for aligning the Executive Team’s priorities and overall vision
for growth with the eCommerce & Retail Sales Channels.

Beyond the management
of the eCommerce & Retail Sales Channels, the ideal candidate is someone
who thinks creatively and is interested in contributing their sales expertise
to every project while working closely and collaborating with the Product
Development, Marketing and Operations Teams.

There is a three (3)
month probationary period, upon reaching the three (3) month period, all staff
members a health plan including dental and Employee Assistance Program. The
position is based out of ME to WE’s office in Toronto (225 Carlton Street).

Responsibilities:

Budgeting &
Forecasting

  • Responsible
    for driving growth across multiple Direct Distribution Channels:
    eCommerce, Fundraising, Retail and We Day/Events
  • Develop
    and build annual sales plans for all Direct Distribution Channels with
    input from the Channel Managers.
  • Develop
    and manage budget for Direct Distribution Channels.
  • Set and
    measure KPIs for each Channel.
  • Provide
    forecast and budget summary roll-ups to (weekly, monthly, quarterly and
    year-end) executive team regarding Direct Distribution Channels, net sales
    and operating profit to better guide the business.
    • Assist
      Channels and department in providing quality analysis for presentation to
      Chief Operating Director and CEO.
  • Responsible
    for Direct to Consumer P&L
    • Partner
      with various vendors to improve profit margin.
    • Oversee
      processing of accounts payable, working with the Accounting team.

Product
& Planning

  • Oversee
    product and sales strategies for Direct Distribution Channels, working
    closely with the Operations Team
    • Allocation
      strategy
    • Top-performer
      product plan
    • Newness
      forecasting
    • Sell-through
      opportunities outside of trends
    • Seasonal
      forecasting and tracking (marketing collateral, promotions, testing)
  • Work
    collaboratively with the Marketing and Creative & Communication teams
    to build a marketing, content and communication plan that will support new
    product launches, merchandising, programs and sales strategies for Direct
    Distribution Channels

Operations
& Administration

  • Ensures
    all Direct Distribution Channels have completely adopted all systems:
    BrightPearl, Magento, SalesForce and Qlik
    • Serves
      as a secondary administrator of all systems and assists in the management
      & adoption of new systems
    • Ensure
      data input is accurate and properly synced with all systems
  • Delivers
    periodic reporting to the product development, sales and marketing teams –
    providing Channel forecasts, sales and KPI performance, trends, insights
    conversion rates
  • Identify
    new reporting needs to evolve the department and devise reports to measure
    trends
  • Interpret
    data to devise actionable plans

Leadership
& Performance Management

  • Provides
    guidance and hands-on leadership with Direct Channel Management
  • Drives
    Channel performance and holds team accountable to revenue goals and KPIs
  • Managing
    and re-organizing team priorities to ensure alignment with organization
    wide priorities
  • Develop
    succession/growth planning for the team
  • Continuously
    works to improve and upgrade the existing skill set of the team

Skills &
Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary
    Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge
    of eCommerce, retail industry and marketing process
  • Experienced
    strategic thinker with a track-record in both strategic planning and
    tactical execution
  • Previous
    experience creating and maintaining annual budgets
  • Ability
    to drive tactics and objectives from ideation to execution independently
  • Thrives
    in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability
    to work independently as a leader on strategic initiatives
  • Passion
    for creating a collaborative team environment
  • Proven
    ability to develop processes, automation tools and reports to improve
    business efficiencies
  • Must be
    proficient at analyzing data, building reporting and making strategic
    recommendations based on data and trend
