The
New Brunswick Environmental Network is hiring a Youth Outreach Coordinator. The
idea candidate is someone who can develop, inspire, and support an inclusive
and enthusiastic community of New Brunswick high school and post-secondary
environmental leaders who are working towards a sustainable future. This
position will empower youth with the resources and support needed to develop
and hone their critical thinking skills, to apply these skills to the
environmental issues of concern to them and links to expand their work to their
broader community. The position will demand effective engagement, planning, and
coordination skills.

and inspire high-school and post-secondary youth around environmental
issues through school presentations and outreach - Build
and sustain active youth environmental leadership in New Brunswick - Plan
and organize events and gatherings - Coordinate
the Branch Out Make Waves Challenge, which challenges youth in New
Brunswick to plant trees and clean-up shorelines - Provide
follow-up, support, and resources for youth environmental groups - Work
collaboratively with the NBEN team, member and associate groups, and
partners - Achieve
the vision of an empowered youth environmental movement in New Brunswick
Requirements:
- Strong
communications skills in English and French - Strong
organizational and coordination skills - Leadership
skills - Networking
and partnership skills - Driver’s
license
Assets:
- Experience
in project coordination and event organization - Background
in New Brunswick’s environmental movement - Knowledge
of key environmental issues of concern to youth - Experience
with youth groups and organizations - Ability
to work independently but also a co-operative team player
