The
Minga Cafe and Community Centre is looking for a positive, hard working part
time baker/chef. Must have a strong knowledge of vegetarian / vegan /
gluten-free cuisine. Must be able to work in a team setting as w

time baker/chef. Must have a strong knowledge of vegetarian / vegan /
gluten-free cuisine. Must be able to work in a team setting as w
ell as alone.
Approximately 20 hours per week. Multitasking and organization skills are very
important.
The
right candidate will be expected to:

- Prepare
fresh baked goods for the cafe. - Prepare
ingredients for the cafe menu. - Assist
in attractive food presentation. - Serve
cafe customers - Operate
espresso machine - Have
knowledge and skills in food safety, healthy cooking and nutrition. - Demonstrate
capacity to work with people experiencing marginalization and poverty. - Demonstrate
ability to work effectively in a team and take direction from the kitchen
manager. - Demonstrate
initiative and independence. - Have
strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Have
the ability to work early mornings is preferable. - Have
a personal commitment to social justice, good food and health. - Be
creative, flexible and adaptable.
