The
Member Services and Reception Coordinator works with the Community Food Hubs
Team to ensure that the reception area is a warm and welcoming environment for
our members, volunteers and visitors to our office. The Member Services and
Reception Coordinator is a team player with a willingness to contribute, and

Reception Coordinator is passionate about a just and sustainable food system.

This
full time role (37.5 hours/week), comes with a comeptitive salary plus three
weeks’ vacation and paid benefits after 6 months of employment.
Key
Responsibilities
  • Direct
    Food Bank members (over the phone and in person) to their closest weekly
    location, along with informing them of Food Bank policies and procedures.
  • Assist
    clients by serving emergency food supplies in accordance with Food Bank
    policies and procedures.
  • Greet
    individuals entering the office, including staff, volunteers, clients,
    donors, community partners and workshop participants, directing them where
    appropriate.
  • Receive,
    direct, and relay telephone messages, e-mail, faxes, and physical mail to
    appropriate individuals.
  • Supervise
    1-2 volunteers daily in the reception area.
  • Maintain
    and order an adequate inventory of office supplies.
  • Accurately
    maintain the general filing system.
  • Provide
    word processing and secretarial support, including minute taking at
    departmental meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Completion
    of Grade 12 is required. Post-Secondary education or related experience is
    an asset.
  • Proficient
    knowledge of office administration and procedures as well as relevant
    legislation (especially privacy legislation).
  • High
    proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and database
    programs.
  • Ability
    to work with sensitivity and without discrimination towards people of
    diverse cultures, races/ethnicity, socio-­?economic positions, ages,
    religions, genders, physical/mental challenges/disabilities, and sexual
    orientations.
  • Personal
    attributes should include honesty and trustworthiness, flexibility, a
    sound work ethic and team player with the ability for self-direction.
  • Sense
    of humour, honesty, compassion.
  • Commitment
    to the organization’s vision of accessible, healthy and sustainable food
    for all.
  • Effective
    conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience
    working in challenging social environments.
  • All
    applicants must pass a criminal record check.
  • Proficiency
    in a second language an asset.
  • Familiarity
    with non-profit organizations and community resources an asset.
Physical
Requirements
:
  • May
    be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability
    to lift 25 lbs. or more.
