Marketing

/Communication position within our Marketing Group is located at
Norco’s head office in Port Coquitlam, just south of the Mary Hill Bypass and
steps away from the Pitt River and Traboulay Trail system. Enjoy your lunch

The
Opportunity: Principle Duties

Reporting to the
Marketing Manager, our Live to Play Sports Marketing Division has an immediate
opening for a full-time Marketing/Communication (Marcom) Junior Supervisor.
This position has diverse responsibilities including marcom strategy
development and implementation, integrated media relations and content
development oversight, social media analytics, event support and community
relations for our proprietary and distributed brand portfolio. Responsibilities
also include day-to-day oversight of the marketing coordinator and integrated
web content coordinator.

This supervisory
position requires strong organizational and planning skills along with
discipline and adherence to schedules and deadlines. Knowledge of the bicycle
or sporting goods industry is an asset. Working closely with the Marketing
Manager, key activities will include:

  • Day
    to day oversight of two staff members
  • Planning,
    organize, execute and manage events including product releases,
    tradeshows, customer and partner events, industry events and sales
    training sessions or documents.
  • Actively
    engage, identify and oversee all media relations activities, including
    coordinate product deployment for testing and review in key domestic and
    international markets, arrange and entertain interviews
  • Create
    and execute marketing materials and content for B2B and B2C environs
  • Oversight
    and adherence to proprietary and distributed brand guidelines
  • Prepare
    PowerPoint presentations for sales and management meetings
  • Constantly
    explore, recommend, use and optimize communication methods, vehicles and
    technologies to engage with various audiences, particularly as part of
    fully integrated demand generation campaigns.
  • Assist
    in idea generation and fulfilment of integrated media strategies
  • Assist
    with storyboard creation for photo and video capture
  • Assist
    with in-house photo and video content capture for distributed brands
  • Work
    with the marketing and content coordinators to create and update
    collateral, editing, presentations, brochures, product sheets, fact
    sheets, story starters, web content, newsletters, sales tools with input
    from key stakeholders.
  • Assist
    in the realizing the growth, development and performance of direct report
    staff

The
Candidate Should Possess:

Along with your
interests in riding or an active outdoor lifestyle, you possess diverse
creative and technical skills with proficiency and an understanding for visual
brand building. You also possess a character that demonstrates a passion for ideas,
collaboration, initiative, commitment, flexibility and pursuit of great design.

  • Completed
    education with a Degree or Diploma in Marketing, PR or Communications.
  • Some
    experience managing people day-to-day in the workplace
  • Expertise
    in PR strategy and media relations with strong marketing and
    communications fundamentals
  • Confident
    written and verbal communication skills; French or German is an asset
  • Proficiency
    in social media reporting software and analytical ability
  • Demonstrate
    strong relationship building capability
  • Compatibility;
    collaboration within a team environment and desire for improvement
  • Comfortable
    with giving and receiving constructive design feedback
  • Working
    bicycle knowledge and mechanical skills are an asset
