The Utility Regulator is the economic regulator for the electricity, water and gas industries in Northern Ireland. It promotes economy and efficiency and protects the interests of consumers with regard to both price and quality of service.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the position of Director of Electricity Regulation. The job-holder will have a key role in continuing the success of the all-island Single Electricity Market, which is amongst the most developed example of regional integration in the EU. They will further develop and implement policy to integrate renewables and to chart a course for further integration into a wider NW European market.

Regarding networks, the Utility Regulator is the UK’s only multi-utility regulator, and the job-holder will be a key player in applying learning from across the utilities to deliver best-practice price controls.

The appointment is full time, and is based in Belfast. A competitive remuneration package will be available to the successful candidate.
