The South Queensland Operating Centre is currently seeking an experienced Senior Soil Scientist (minimum 8 years) to join our Soil and Sediment Erosion Control team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within the Brisbane office across a diversity of clients ensuring the successful delivery of projects within the South Queensland region.
This key responsibilities will include;
• Soil studies for projects in particular land components for Environmental Impact Statements, land resource surveys, acid sulphate soil studies; site characterisation for effluent disposal, and soil assessments for erosion and sediment control planning and rehabilitation
• Development, management and execution of soil field programs, ensuring compliance to safety whilst meeting client expectations
• Interpretation of results
• Development of soil management plans and technical reporting
Bringing your relevant tertiary qualifications, you will have a comprehensive working knowledge of Environmental Sector activities including: impact assessment and approvals, monitoring, environmental management systems, auditing, risk assessment, soil classification and soil surveying.
Being a lateral thinker with strong communication skills, you will be able to translate ideas into deliverable outcomes to achieve project objectives. You will be a confident, self-starter with natural leadership abilities and enjoy working closely with less experienced engineers/scientists providing mentoring and job management guidance. As an experienced consultant you will have a strong commercial acumen, ensuring all project demands are delivered on time and to budget, whilst continuing to scope and identify new business opportunities.
