Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
o To act as a focal point/technical authority for electrical engineering questions throughout all phases of engineering design, construction and offshore installation, commissioning and operation
o To provide electrical engineering input to other disciplines to assure that design outputs are consistent.
o To act as Company authority for the review of Design Bases, design drawings, specifications, etc.
o To act as required as the Company representative (electrical) to ensure that design work by contractors meets Company standards and relevant industry codes
o To monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions related to electrical design.
o To assist Company resident and/or project engineers with the electrical engineering aspects of Facilities design.
o To participate in HAZOP’s and other key design reviews.
o To assist in the development Nigerian electrical engineers

Key Performance Indicators/ Performance Goals:
o Zero LTIs.
o On time delivery of work-scope.
o Maintain up to date facilities electrical installations database.

Requirements
o Minimum twenty (20) years relevant experience with an oil industry design and fabrication contractor
o Must have worked in as a electrical engineer/senior electrical engineer for an Operator and have been involved in both onshore and offshore projects
o Must be used to working in a multi-discipline environment
o Must have worked in an expatriate situation for at least five (5) year.
o University Engineering Degree (Electrical).
o Good understanding of project management controls and procedures.
o Ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of consistency and accuracy.
o Solid working knowledge of oil and gas industry electrical engineering codes and standards.
o Have thorough knowledge of the design of onshore and offshore oil production facilities
o Have the ability to utilise common electrical design software for systems design and analysis
o To provide input to Front End/Conceptual Engineering studies with respect to electrical design aspects
o To establish and maintain a facilities electrical installations database
o Provide input to Integrity Management and Planned Maintenance planning
o Sound understanding of HSES management systems and the application thereof, particularly with respect to design integrity and safety.
o Ability to manage interfaces both internally and externally with contractors
o Reporting skills with the ability to write well structured and easily understood reports
o Able to prepare and deliver effectively presentations for information dissemination both internally to management and externally to 3rd parties
o Fluent spoken and written English.
o Strong interpersonal skills, able to deal with a broad spectrum of cultural and organisational styles
o Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Project, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint).

Terms & Conditions
o Work schedule: 6:2 weeks.
o Initial Contract of 12 months (Option to extend).
o For this position, preference will be given to Nigerian nationals. In case Expatriate candidate(s) are selected it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy
