WRI Research Analyst Job Vacancy in Bangalore, India

Overview:
The position will be based at the World Resources
Institute’s Bangalore office. The candidate will provide research and analysis
support for the Green Power Market Development Group, and will liaise with
partner organizations for the purpose of coordination as and when necessary.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to:
– Conduct research on existing market players and
working models for implementation of green power projects in India
– Conduct research on potential and existing
financial and policy barriers to execution of green power projects in India
– Conduct policy analysis to identify workable
solutions to overcome barriers; prepare policy briefs
– Analyse existing financing mechanisms to identify
mechanisms that could be tested by the group
– Support outreach to developers and suppliers to
identify serious and workable projects
– Support outreach to members of GPMDG to discuss
and analyse these projects
– Work with WRI team and CII to respond to requests
for input from GPMDG members
– Support in developing material for Green Power
Market Development Group meetings
– Support with convening stakeholder meetings as
needed (and liaise with CII when convening GPMDG meetings)
– Support content development for publications of
GPMDG
– Develop slides / outreach material for members of
GPMDG to use at external meetings
The initial engagement will be for a year, but
there may be opportunities to extend this to a second year.
Qualifications:
– A strong candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree
and 2-4 years or experience or a Post Graduate degree in a relevant field of
study (Environmental Science or Management, Environmental Engineering, Energy
Studies, Energy Infrastructure)
– Experience with energy markets in India
– Experience with financial and/or policy analysis
– Strong writing and power point skills
– Must be a self-starter and able to work with
limited supervision

Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate
with skills and experience.
