implementing development programs in many Districts of Rwanda.
World
Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced
national for the position of Accounts Assistant. The position will be
based at World Vision’s Eastern Regional office in GasaboDistrict and
reporting to the JICA Project Manager.

Purpose
of the position:
The
Accounts Assistant will provide efficient and effective finance and
administrative services to JICA project in line with World Vision policies,
practices and procedures.
The
major responsibilities include:
  • To
    hand carry cash from and to the bank for withdrawals and deposits.
  • To
    prepare petty cash voucher and get approvals for payments
  • Ensure
    cash payment on production of original receipts and appropriate approvals
  • Ensure
    paid stamp affixed on all payments
  • To
    prepare petty cash statements in order to replenish cash
  • Keep
    subsidiary journals
  • Ensure
    proper coding of grant expenses of petty cash expenses
  • Assist
    in filing all vouchers
  • Analyze
    staff advance accounts on a monthly basis
  • Ensure
    outstanding advances are recovered from staff on a timely basis.
  • Prepare
    financial reports every quarter according to JICA project grant guideline
Qualifications:
Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The
following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education,
prior experience or on-the-job training:
  • Should
    have a Higher Diploma in Accounting / Finance.
  • Should
    have knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principals(GAAP), and
    practical knowledge of financial systems and internal Controls and
    procedures.
  • Knowledge
    of grant/project accounting and Budget preparation is an added advantage
  • Requires
    excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Experience
A
minimum of one year experience in accounting profession, preferably in a
related position.

salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience:
