Job Objective:
Responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring projects that enable Farmers to generate additional household income, access to credit and undertake commercial based agriculture through training and linking Farmers Associations and Cooperatives to Credit Institutions. Co-ordinate all activities related to agro-based micro-enterprise development within the DAP Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Train farmers in the designing, implementation, financial management, and monitoring of small agro-based businesses.
• Search for and link farmers to credit institutions for provision of credit for Development of agro-based businesses.
• Design a mechanism to assist rural based agro-businesses to establish systems that are to assess and monitor the financial viability of projects identified and implemented (profitability, earnings forecast (etc).
• Provide management with reports on achievement of targets on all activities related to the department.
• Conduct national and regional market surveys and avail the information to agro-based
• Businesses farmers so that they can utilize available market information.
• Identify and link farmers to new markets and private companies (local and regional, International) where they can buy and sell their agriculture products.
• Develop and implement guidelines for a team of farmers’ associations and Cooperative’s facilitators working in the regions proving rural Road networks in order to increase Agriculture products within four provinces marketing.
• Built capacity of farmers on value addition of their products to improve the product Prices in the local market (storage construction, post harvest, handling trainings)
• Attend, participate, and contribute in all forums organized by government, NGOs etc on agro-based businesses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• University degree in Business and Administration, Commerce, Economics, Rural development, Accounting or any related field.
• 2 years working experience in a similar position.
• Must be willing to apply academic and technical knowledge to field in a way that creates positive results,
• According to relevant professional experience, design, implementing, monitoring projects that enable farmers to increase economic opportunities in rural area, (generate additional household income
• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Perform other duties as required.
