the most vulnerable. They are looking to recruit a self motivated individual

Manager
Job Objective
The 12+ Program manager is responsible for empowering
girls between 10-12years of age by delivering a number of evidence-based,
cost-effective direct interventions to build girls’ health, social and economic
assets that are imperative to reach adulthood safely, including delaying first
birth, to a reasonable age, increasing their knowledge of and access to vital
services and building the capacity of the local communities, and service
sectors to ‘see’,

in 10 Districts of Rwanda where WRR is implementing this program

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement the 12+ Work plan tailored to address
    specific 12+ program components  such as safe spaces, mentorship, and
    delivery of the 12+ curriculum and experiential learning (eg health and
    financial literacy training supplemented by learning journeys, and health
    challenges)
  • Ensure the accessibility and conducive learning
    environment in the available safe spaces where girls will meet weekly.
  • Support and supervise 10  District
    supervisors in the districts where WRR is implementing this program
  • Work with the district and sector selection
    committee’s to recruit and train mentors and develop professional
    competency goals
  • Ensure that mentors organize weekly sessions with
    Girls, covering the 12+ program curriculum.
  • Manage mentors to ensure that learning journeys
    take place which include; SACCO’s, health centers, banks, community
    markets, schools and Hospital visits by the girls participating in the
    program.
  • Facilitate the development of incubator savings
    linked to the financial literacy component and possibly formally connect
    it to the national banking system.
  • Sensitive and build collaborative relationships
    with district administration and communities
  • Working with local leaders and communities,
    recruit 14,000 girls to participate in the program in year 2
  • Collaborate closely with local leaders and other
    organizations working in the districts to support the evolution of a
    permanent network of girl platforms and support for young female cadres
    delivering health social and economic content.
  • Provide regular and timely reports (narrative and
    financial) to the MOH (SPIU and MCH units) covering the activities of the
    approved action plan.
  • Follow all legal framework and procedures related
    to the management of Government funds and resources.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree preferably
    in Public health, Social Science, Gender studies or other related field.
  • Able to model exemplary moral and social
    behaviors acceptable in the Rwandan culture through own actions.
  • Strong capacity building and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to support those they lead in the midst
    of adverse circumstances.
  • Conscientious, well organized, attentive to
    detail, and able to handle multiple complex tasks at once.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision,
    self-starter, proactive, and a good communicator.
  • Ability to maintain performance expectations in
    conditions with limited resources.
  • Strong reporting skills in both program level
    reporting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills in English
    and Kinyarwanda. French is beneficial but not required.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets,
    and electronic communications.
Required Experience
  • Minimum experience of 7 years delivering
    interventions for adolescent girls with a local or international NGO. At
    least two of those years should be in program management positions.
  • Experience implementing projects funded by the
    government of Rwanda and other donors such as USAID, DFID, UN Agencies,
    etc.
  • Experience working with a diverse set of
    stakeholders including government, donors, and people of different
    cultures
  • Worked with saving groups for at least 1-2 years.
