World Fisheries Trust and its partners are implementing a project in Bolivia that is looking at improving food security in the Bolivian Amazon through improved fisheries and aquaculture.

We have a need for a social researcher to work closely with the Associacion Faunagua and Agua Sustentable, our Bolivian partners, to help guide and implement social surveys, social mapping, and participative training workshops with communities. Based primarily in Bolivia, the researcher will also be responsible for liaison with the Canadian office to ensure smooth collaboration on all aspects of the project.

A Master’s degree in a relevant field, or higher is expected, with demonstrated field and publication experience. Experience with food security, community-based management, social mapping, and participative action research are desirable. Knowledge of Spanish essential, as is flexibility to remain in Bolivia for extended periods of time.

Work is to start immediately (end of August).
Initial period of 6 months, with opportunity for extension.

Renumeration based on experience.
