Minimum Requirements
Diesel mechanic or equivalent qualification plus a minimum of 10 years practical experience; Code 14 (EC) licence an advantage; At least 5 years experience at a Supervisory / Foreman level which will include a strong ability to manage people; Knowledge of preventative maintenance programmes; Ability to monitor vehicle utilizations and control the costs of maintenance; Computer literacy.
Job Specification
The incumbent will be responsible for the following: Manage a workshop team; Develop and maintain a sound relationship with operations staff and suppliers; Manage the fleet maintenance programme; Manage the budget vehicle maintenance costs to acceptable levels; Manage stores stock levels and the purchase of replacement parts and equipment; Working knowledge of maintaining a haulage fleet comprising of haulage truck tractors, trailer equipment, loading agricultural equipment and off-road earth moving equipment.
