Summer Position: Summer Marketing for Wintergreen Renewable Energy Co-op

The Social Planning Council of Kingston and District is hiring a
summer student to work with the Centre for Social Enterprise and
Innovation to assist innovative local social businesses. This position
will provide an opportunity for the student to learn the challenges of
marketing in this sector of the economy.

Renewable Energy Co-op,
http://www.wintergreencoop.com . The summer student will
assist the
Co-op with marketing, community outreach, and membership growth, and
will be supervised jointly by officials of the Social Planning Council
and the Co-op.
Duties:
• meeting support (advertising, organization, registration, etc.)
• tech support (website, social media, etc.)
• marketing (writing articles profiling investors and projects for
local magazines, creation of publicity materials (buttons, window
decals, car decals) and event support (display table, materials,
etc.))
Skills:
• Ability to use: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign,
Illustrator), Microsoft Office, Google Docs, WordPress)
• Experience with social media (Twitter/Facebook)
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Customer Service/Client Relations skills
Qualifications:
• Must be returning to school for full-time studies in Fall 2014
• Must be between the ages of 15 – 30
• Must have reliable transportation
Those studying marketing, business, or graphic communication will be
given first priority. A passion for renewable energy is considered an
asset but is not required.
The period of employment will be from July 7 to August 29, 2014.
