Effective with the release of this position announcement, Winrock International will be recruiting applicants for
the position of Research and Learning Coordinator for a program that will build women’s skills in agribusiness under the Empowerment and Civic Engagement Unit. The responsibilities, duties, and qualifications are described in the attached position description. Position is contingent upon receipt of donor funding.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Research and Learning Coordinator
LOCATION: Liberia
UNIT: Empowerment and Civic Engagement
REPORTS TO: Program Manager

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The purpose of this USAID project in Liberia will be to build technical and business skills of women in Liberia to increase their participation in the formal agriculture sector. This is expected to be a three-year position based in Monrovia, Liberia, and is contingent upon receipt of donor funding.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This individual will be responsible for designing and managing the monitoring of program results, and designing reports and dissemination strategies to share that information with all interested stakeholders. The position requires significant monitoring and evaluation skills, experience conducting rigorous research in developing countries , and strong abilities in reporting and building collaborative work relationships across institutional borders. S/he provides critical input into program design and monitoring and reporting plans, ensuring methodological integrity, collecting input and output information, and establishing systems for the sharing of program results with key program partners.

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
Education: The minimum qualification for the Research and Learning Coordinator candidate includes a master’s degree or PhD in a related social science discipline, e.g., economics, sociology, political science, or related field.

Work Experience:
• Three years or more experience working in research, monitoring, and/or knowledge management in developing countries .
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation preferred.
• At least two years’ experience working on gender-related issues is required.
• At least two years’ experience leading a team across institutional and cultural lines is preferred.
• Experience working for USAID projects, particularly in field-based positions, is preferred.
• At least two years’ previous work experience in Liberia and/or West Africa is preferred.
