The Wilderness Committee is seeking a Member and Donor Relations
Assistant for our head office in Vancouver, BC. This is a full-time,
permanent position based on 37.5 hours per week.
The Wilderness Committee is a grassroots, membership-based
organization that has a history o
f more than 30 years on the front
line of environmental battles in BC. We have helped win protection for
millions of hectares of wilderness, defend wild rivers from private
power projects, and stop tar sands exports and the corresponding
tanker traffic off the Pacific coast, among many other environmental
issues.
The Member and Donor Relations Assistant is responsible for handling
phone calls, e-mails and drop-ins related to membership, donations and
product orders, assisting with the processing of our door to door
canvass, database updates, and other administrative duties as
required.
You will be directly responsible for …
• Responding to phone calls, e-mails and other front desk reception duties
• Handling all inquiries related to membership, donations and purchasing
• Ensuring regular membership servicing, archiving and overseeing
volunteers that support your tasks
• Assisting with reviewing, sorting and balancing canvass cash-outs
• Performing data entry into our database for member, donor, purchaser
and wholesale contact information and contribution details
• Other administrative tasks as required
You will have…
• At least 1 year work experience in an administrative role within a
non-profit in the social justice sector
• A diploma in office administration or equivalent educational background
• At least 2 years’ experience using a fundraising and donor
management Constituent Relationship Management software (experience
using CiviCRM an asset)
• An eye for details and proactive in resolving a situation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office,
accounting software experience an asset
• Demonstrated customer service skills

Salary: $28,176 per year plus benefits.
Conditions of employment: This is a unionized position with BCGEU
Local 2003, and thus pay and benefits are determined by the Collective
Agreement.
