Western Power Substations Engineer, Transmission Primary Engineering Job Vacancy in Perth

The Role
As a Substation Design Engineer for the Transmission Substation Design Section at the Transmission Primary Engineering & Construction Branch in Kewdale, you will utilize your technical expertise, skills and knowledge to deliver competitive electrical engineering design, estimating, project management and consulting products and services associated with substation designs for Transmission and to a lesser extent, Distribution.

In essence, this role is to facilitate the delivery of high quality transmission substation engineering and design services in a safe, reliable, efficient and commercially responsible manner.

Your skills and experience will include, but not be limited to:
• tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering and eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia
• relevant demonstrated technical experience in a network business associated with the design and construction of substations
• considerable experience in a utility networks design business
• ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences and to escalate risks and issues on Transmission Substation projects
• strong communication skills and customer focus with the ability to work unsupervised and meet strict deadlines
• ability to prioritise and critically assess own performance essentials
• demonstrated commitment to safety technical experience in the Networks business with exposure
A valid WA driver’s license Class C or C-A is also required.
