Western Health General Practitioner Job Vacancy in Stephenville, NL

Western Health is seeking the services of a General Practitioner to fill a vacancy in Stephenville, NL from July 2011 until July 2012.

Located in scenic Bay St. George, the Town of Stephenville has a population of 7,200 and is the service centre for a catchment area of approximately 25,000. Stephenville has choice state of the art recreational facilities, all of which are located in a very close proximity; the Regional Aquatic Centre, Stephenville Dome, West Coast Training Centre, Whaleback Nordic Cross Country Ski Trails, Caribou Curling Club and the 18-Hole Harmon Seaside Links Golf Course. Stephenville offers a thriving education system that includes the provincial Headquarters of the College of the North Atlantic.

The Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital is a 44-bed acute care hospital offering 24-hr. emergency room service and specialty services in OBS/Gyne, General Surgery, Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.

General Practitioner
The successful applicant will practice in a clinic with two other General Practitioners providing out patient clinics on a regular week-day basis.

In-patient care, after hours on call duties, O.R. assist and a regular rotation of Emergency Department coverage at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital will be shared with a total of eight other family practitioners.
Interested applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of NL, have current ACLS certification and satisfy credentialing requirements of Western Health.
