Head of Project “Emergency Relief” in Afghanistan
The post is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial term of 6 months. The workplace location is Kabul.
This location is not suitable for families.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As Head of Project “Emergency Response”, you are responsible for implementing and coordinating our activities in accordance with the framework specified as regards content, time schedules and finance.
Your most important duties are as follows:
 Representing Welthungerhilfe and coordinating the project concept and planned project activities with local decision-makers and other aid agencies and development organisations operating in the project area
 Identification, review and development of new project ideas
 Ensuring orderly financial and material expenses planning
 Managing and instructing foreign and national project staff
 Ensuring the necessary flow of information and transparency of project activities vis-a-vis the public in the host country
Your qualifications will include:
 Project-relevant university or technical degree, preferably in agricultural sciences / rural development or a level of qualifications that is commensurate with this position
 Project and management experience with co-financed emergency aid projects of international (aid) organisations, preferably in this region
 Coordination and organisational skills – even under difficult local conditions
 Very good command of both written and spoken English
