People,
Organisational Development and Administration Manager – WaterAid – Malawi
Office – Lilongwe

Is responsible for
delivering outstanding people and organizational development (OD)support to
WaterAid Malawi Country Programme (CP)

Develop and
implement the Country Programme’s People and OD Plan to maximize CP’s
effectiveness ad capabilities within the wider WaterAid Global People Strategy

Work effectively as
part of the Senior Management Team to promote and embed WaterAid’s values and
leadership behaviours

Support change
management by supporting managers to drive, communicate and sustain change
implementation

Ensure effective
resourcing, identifying skills and capabilities required to deliver current and
future CP work and recruiting quality team members

Provide effective
induction to ensure new and transitioning employees receive a thorough
induction and coach managers on their role in delivering this

Embed performance
management to ensure a strong performance management culture and processes

Identify and
maximize potential supporting managers in identifying and maximising high
potential and succession planning in the CP

Provide learning and
development guidance, developing an annual CP learning and development plan,
supported by learning initiatives from the global people team and support
Leadership and Management Development by working with the Regional People Lead

Manage reward and
payroll and continuously improve CP reward ensuring an appropriate mix of pay,
benefits and non-pay rewards in line with WaterAid’s reward principles and
national legislation

Develop and maintain
people policies and processes in line with current legislation and WaterAid
global policies

Effectively manage
employee relations to resolve employee relations issues whit global policy and
national legislation

Encourage employee
engagement through example by following up on the global employee survey and
manage diversity, ensuring that diversity is recognized, respected and enabled

Do people reporting,
collating and analyzing people metrics for use within the CP and for regional
and organisational wide people reporting

Work with wider
Global People team – Spend approximately 10% of role supporting the development
and delivery of global and regional people projects

Administration –
Oversee the country programme’s administration function

across the organization to bring best practice ideas to the CP, working in a

administrative skills

Analytical and
numeracy skills to produce and distil accurate information, Strong
communication skills in written and oral English, HR level qualification at
degree and/or postgraduate level, Substantial operational experience of working
within a busy HR team environment providing timely and high quality advice and
work in all aspects of HR (recruitment, reward, employee relations, employment
legislation, learning and development change management, policies and
processes), Strong knowledge in HR best practice and innovative new practices,
Experience of leading and effectively delivering People based projects, Strong
knowledge, understanding and application of Malawian Labour Law, Strong IT
skills particularly MS Word, Excel and Outlook with experience of using HR
databases, online recruitment tools and intranets
