overview
• To monitor progress of livelihoods
projects supported by VSO under Africa
strategic fund and INSPIRED.
• Provide technical support to assigned cooperatives (Agronomy, veterinary,
SMEs …) depending on their needs.
• Work in close collaboration with cooperative executive boards and members to
strengthen cooperative management and functioning (records keeping, financial
management, organisational structures, etc.)
• Collaborate with the sector cooperative officer ensure quality results.
• Support the cooperatives to develop professional business development plans
and an operation manual that defines their ways of working.
• Support the cooperatives comply with all legal requirement to attain and
maintain their cooperative status.
• To enable the cooperatives diversify their livelihoods. .
• Prepare reports for all the work done and contribute to the livelihood
reporting.
duties
As necessary, represent VSO Rwanda in the sector and the district. Fulfil other
appropriate responsibilities as instructed by the line manager from time to
time.
qualifications and experience required
Preference will be given to fresh graduates holding a Bachelors’ degree in
agriculture, agronomy, crop production, and animal production, veterinary or animal
medicine. Secondary certificate in veterinary sciences or agriculture
accompanied by bachelor’s degree in development studies or social studies is
also acceptable.
Graduate from other discipline with one year of work experience with
cooperatives / Self Help Group would also be considered.
Good command over English and Kinyarwanda. French fluency is an added
advantage.
Computer literacy: MS word, Excel, Power point and internet usage.
Good reporting skills,
Priority is given to the candidates living / originating from the district.
