Position Description:
The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) is an autonomous Government
Agency established by the Act of Parliament No.1 of 1994. VETA is responsible
for regulating, coordinating, financing and providing Vocational Education and Training
in Tanzania. VETA is an equal opportunity organization. The Authority is
looking for qualified, competent, dynamic and committed Tanzanians to fill the
following vacant position.
Job Purpose
To effectively and efficiently carry out internal audit and investigation
functions by making independent examination inspection and evaluation of
organization activities (financial and otherwise), reviewing accounting and
operating controls in order to give recommendations which will assist members
of the organization to discharge their duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualification and experience required
Direct Entry
Holder of a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accountancy from a recognized
Institution plus CPA or ACCA or
Registered as an approved Public Auditor/Accountant
At least 3 (three) years in the same field and a six months probation.
Entry from within
Holder of a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accountancy from a recognized
Institution plus CPA or ACCA or
Registered as an approved Public Auditor/Accountant
Attitudes and Competencies Required
Must be able to use IT equipment
Must be able to plan, organise, and control Internal Audit functions
Should be able to review and analyse performance of different organisation
activities and come up with recommendations.
Must be fluent both in English and Kiswahili
Should be able to apply scientific formulae in order to verify accounting and
other operating activities.
Independence, tact and confidence is imperative
Main Duties/Tasks:
Conducting regular audit to all VETA center and regional offices
Preparing audit reports and submits to Senior Internal Auditor
Conducting special audit whenever happen at any VETA center, Regional Offices,
MVTTC and Head Office
Conducting audit/ physical check for the support given to other VET providers
by VETA.
