The
Technical Lead role requires balancing technical and leadership talents to
deliver technical services to Managed Services clients with primary
objectives being zero missed service level agreements and client. This role
is part of a dynamic and high performing group of engineers
consisting of Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. All engineers work together to
deliver complete Integrated Services Management across a broad range of ITIL
disciplines, including Service Desk, Incident Management, Problem Management,
Configuration Management, Change Management and Release Management.

l desire of working with people, as well as
to have a solid understanding of IT service management from end-to-end, and
gain an in-depth understanding of the client’s specific business operations,
and how these operations apply to each ITIL discipline.

Requirements:
Technical Education, Training and Experience
  • Excellent
    technical knowledge across a broad range of disciplines including Servers
    and Hardware staging, Operating Systems, Storage, Virtualisation,
    Networking, Element Managers and Middleware.
  • Current
    Cisco UCS certification
  • Current
    VMWare, Hyper-V certification or have in-depth knowledge of virtualisation
    technologies.
  • EMC
    and/or HP (EVA and 3Par) knowledge or certification
  • ITIL
    knowledge or certification

  • Exceptional
    customer engagement skills, strong client focus, systems support,
    technical documentation, interpersonal, co-ordination and verbal and
    written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate
    a professional demeanour and be able to demonstrate previous experience in
    a similar client facing role.
  • Applicants
    must demonstrate an ability to “think on their feet” with a good
    balance of technical skills and business acumen.
  • A
    cornerstone for success in this role will be the individual’s ability to
    develop a relationship of trust and partnership with the client with a
    view towards becoming a trusted advisor within the client space.
  • In
    order to foster a healthy relationship with the client the successful
    applicant will demonstrate very clear ownership of tasks, the urgency
    required to drive the tasks to the right teams for action, clear follow up
    and with a client response articulated in such a way that they are able to
    understand it in both plain English and within context of their business
    operation.
  • Ability
    to develop a granular understanding of both organisations, focusing on
    developing and improving the interaction between the organizations at (but
    not limited to) an operational level.
  • Applicants
    must also have a keen eye for process and be able to identify
    opportunities for improvement that will lead to efficiency gains for both
    organizations. Likewise the successful applicant will be able to articulate
    best practice, or “common sense” processes that serve to improve
    operations and the client relationship.
  • Applicants
    must also understand the future needs of the client and undertake the
    journey with them as they seek to evolve their business infrastructure
    needs.
  • Applicants
    must also forge strong relationships with the broader (remote) Engineering
    Teams in order to build trust, assign tasks with urgency and seek
    information or support from the broader team.
  • Ability
    to provide detailed written responses to technical requirements
