recruiting 3,000+ Police Officers as well additional Protective Services

Victoria Police

your community. All Police Officers are required to undertake a minimum
of 2-4 year’s general duties policing working at police stations. This is where
a Police Officer learns the foundation skills for their career in policing.
General duties shifts are 8 hours in length and can be day, afternoon or night
shifts. You will then have the opportunity to become an expert in a
specialist field such as Intelligence/Analyst, Crime Command, Training
Unit or Prosecutions.
If you have
ambitions to manage teams, there are ten ranks above the entry police officer
level for you to aspire to, so choose the career path that’s right for you.
As a Protective
Services Officer, you will be a valued member of the Victoria Police team. You
will receive comprehensive training including the same weapons and
self-defence training as Police Officers. This role offers a

The
Recruitment Process
The recruitment
process starts with your online application and involves an exam, fitness test,
psychology test, health check, video interview, panel interview and several
prior history and character checks along the way to ensure your values align
with those of Victoria Police. The recruitment process can take in excess
of 6 months, depending on how ready you are, so we urge you to start preparing
now!
To be eligible to
apply, you will need to start with:
- 18+
with VCE/ Senior VCAL or equivalent (not required if over 21 years of age)
- Australian
Citizen - Driver’s
Licence (Police only) - Healthy
level of fitness
