Job Overview:
UrbanTrans manages various outreach and marketing efforts company wide. The successful outreach specialist candidate will perform ongoing strategic communications, marketing and outreach support for a variety of clients, businesses and organizations. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Ability to lead, plan and staff outreach events such as transportation fairs, tabling, lunch and learns, door to door outreach, shuttle/transit based customer outreach, etc.
• Provide all levels of coordination on campaign-based or program marketing efforts.
• Selecting/ordering/managing giveaways for outreach related projects
• Advanced knowledge of how to maintain electronic materials, such as project websites using content management systems and creating and distributing email newsletters and e-blasts, using Exact Target or similar software programs
• Responsible for managing contact management databases for outreach clients/program participation, creating activity reports and keeping stock of outreach materials including marketing collateral, giveaways and transportation information
• Ability to communicate a high level knowledge of regional transportation policies and changes to convey to partners.
• Basic understanding of Community Based Social Marketing/Individualized Marketing principles
• Provide high level of support for market research activities, such as focus groups, electronic surveys, intercept surveys, etc.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
• Degree in marketing or communications (or related field)
• 1 or more years of full-time professional experience, related to customer service, marketing or public outreach.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Must have strong computer skills including knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, database management, word processing, and spreadsheet development. Must possess excellent communication skills, customer service skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required. Knowledge of sustainable transportation industry is highly desirable.

Other Requirements:
• Valid Driver’s License and access to vehicle.
• Desire to positively affect the community, region and environment
