We require a: LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE CREW LEADER
Our
crew leader sets the pace for all of our maintenance sites. They know how to
delegate and assign job tasks amongst their crew so that the right work gets
done properly and efficiently. Our crew leader has solid experience in the
landscaping industry and is a creative thinker who can be resourceful and
independent. They are able to make good decisions on behalf of the client and
company without constant direct input from their supervisor.

Teaching
landscaping and maintenance skills to the rest of the team is essential as they
must hold the staff to a high standard of work.

Duties
Include:
Include:
- Leading
crew and performing a wide variety of tasks such as general landscape
maintenance, mowing, removing trash, weeding, planting and plant grooming.
- Assign
work tasks to crew members and monitor progress throughout the day to keep
work on schedule. Monitor and ensure work is performed safely.
- Lead
crew on landscape installation jobs which include excavation, bed
construction, soil and mulch application, and planting.
- Instruct
employees in proper work methods and standards; monitor crew work quality;
insure adherence to time schedules and safe work practices, provide
feedback to supervisor on crew performance.
- Operate
all equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks such as mowers,
trimmers, blowers, tillers, and hand tools. Keep all tools clean, secured
and assure crew is handling and maintaining company tools properly.
- Assist
with purchasing or pick up of required job materials.availability to work
flexible hours and weekends - Keeping
track of crew’s time and schedule
Requirements:
- skilled,
reliable and enthusiastic persons - ability
to lead a team with minimal supervision - valid
“G” drivers’ license (mandatory), - experience
driving large vans and cube vans an asset - previous
landscape training - experience
in landscape maintenance and planting - knowledge
of plant material, weed and pest identification
