The
Centre for Conflict Management (CCM) is one of the academic based Centers of
the University of Rwanda- College of Arts and Social Sciences. It serves as a
bridge between the academia and policy makers through providing the teaching in
its Master programs in peace studies and conflict transformation, security
studies, genocide studies and prevention, and through research findings in
those areas. The main responsibilities and qualification requirements for the
Director of this Center are summarized below.

the activities in connection with the teaching in the CCM Postgraduate
programs, - Coordinating
and following up on all research activities within the center, in
particular by engaging in research and development projects, consultancies
and knowledge transfer through training programmes for government
departments and agencies, private sector and non-governmental
organizations - Engaging
in projects that aim at raising research grants/funds developing the
Center, - Engaging
in (and initiating) community outreach activities, - Formulating
strategies for cooperation/collaboration between the Center and other
stakeholders in the area of Peace, Security, genocide studies and other
relevant fields at either the national, regional or international level; - Initiating
and following up on partnerships and collaboration with international and
regional academic and non-academic institutions and carring out joint
research, conferences, curriculum development, staff and staff exchanges, - Coordinating
activities that aim at ensuring that the Center reaches the level of
Center of Excellence by developing initiatives designed to bring changes,
and by ensuring that they are delivered on excellent standards and by
competent staff. - Engaging
with stakeholders in the view of expanding research and teaching
activities to the whole region and continent for the benefit of the
population - Supervising
academic and administrative staff in the Center, - Coordinating
all activities relating to the development of the center - Carrying
out any other activity in relation with his/her duties as may be assigned
to him/her by the Principal.

Requirements:

- PhD
Degree in Peace studies, Security studies or genocide studies or any other
field directly connected to those areas - At
least 3 years working experience in the area related to teaching and
research in those areas - At
least 5 publications in the peer reviewed Journals those areas in the last
three Years. - Excellent
Communication skills in English - A
proven track record in raising funds for projects
