UQ International
Development (UQID) is a unit within the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor –
International. UQID has completed more than 500 projects in 80 developing
countries throughout the Pacific, South-East Asia, the Indian sub-continent,
and Africa. We combine the technical expertise of UQID staff with UQ academics
and consultants who sha
re our vision and values. We work to empower
individuals, organisations and communities towards sustainability to make a
positive difference. The work of UQID also profiles UQ in developing and
emerging markets and seeds these markets for further strategic engagement
initiatives in the future.
The
role
The successful
appointee will be responsible for coordinating selected international training
and capacity building activities in Australia and in developing countries with
government, civil society, NGOs and industry stakeholder.
The position
requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally and work
non-standard hours.
The
person
To be successful in
this role you will be an enthusiastic ‘can do’ person who has attention to
detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to
liaise with a wide range of people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Applicants should
possess an undergraduate degree in a field relevant to international
development, and experience working in support of international training
programs. Experience in coordination and administration of development
activities or related capacity in logistics would be desirable. Advanced English
language skills with excellent word processing and document presentation skills
are also required.
Remuneration
This is a 12 month
fixed term appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the
range of $62,716.31 – $70,241.69 per annum plus employer superannuation
contributions of up to 9.5%.
