One of the leading centres for teaching and research in architecture in the UK, the Department of Architecture
and Built Environment at the University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Architectural Construction to strengthen its technical portfolio.
The Department places equal value on experience gained in practice or through research, and welcomes applicants with a background in either. The successful candidate will be expected to play a leading role in shaping and contributing to the delivery of construction teaching in the undergraduate and graduate courses. This will include lecture and studio based deliveries. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to lead a studio design unit in architecture.
Our graduates are expected to ensure that their design creativity is underscored with a rigorous technical knowledge and approach. The Department has a strong reputation for producing graduates with these competencies and we wish to build and develop this strength.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and organisational skills and strong architectural design skills. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering this area of teaching and therefore you should have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within larger groups as well as with individual colleagues and students.
You will have a full architectural qualification (ARB/RIBA or equivalent) and the opportunity to contribute to activity in the Architecture and Tectonics research group.
