Job Title: Network Planning Manager

Reports Co: Chief Technical Officer
Department: Engineering
Job Purpose:
To ensure provision of adequate, reliable and cost effective electricity distribution network.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop medium and long term network investment masterplans
• Plan and design major commercial schemes
• Develop short term network improvement plans
• Develop annual capital investment programs
• Network design to ensure it is up to accepted industry best practice
• Ensure development, skills transfer and training of planning engineers to fully undertake the network planning process
• Setup systems, specifications and reporting formats for consulting engineers that will support skills transfer
• Develop and ensure good and up to date engineering document management system
• Manage section to ensure total professional conduct Maintain operations within approved budgets
Required qualifications and experience:
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
• A post graduate qualification in Business or Management will be an advantage
• Proficient in the use of system planning software and applications Experience in carrying out masterplan studies
• At least five (5) years post qualification in a leadership role

Job Title: Protection Metering & Telecommunication Manager

Reports to: Chief Technical Officer Department: Engineering
Job Purpose:
To provide effective and efficient management, co-ordination and integration of PMT maintenance activities and resources, to ensure minimum wide spread power outage to Umeme customers
Key responsibilities:
• Provide effective leadership to the PMT team; including creating a positive climate for creativity, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Integrate and coordinate section activities into core PMT maintenance processes with a view to minimise inconvenience to customers.
• Plan and control sections outputs to rhyme with company objectives
• Participate in the recruit required skills, develop and accredit them to deliver the required outputs.
• Optimise human resource deployment and scheduling
• Compile PMT annual business plan
• Set and monitor performance measures and taking corrective action to achieve and/or exceed performance targets.
• Introduce new technologies and procedures relating to PMT by supporting such initiatives and contributing to special work groups.
• Negotiate and implement service level contracts with PMT customers
• Enforce compliance to safety, quality, environmental, regulatory and statutory requirements
Required Qualifications & experience:
• University Degree (Electrical, Computing or Telecommunications
• Post graduate qualification in management
• Post qualification experience of no less than 7 years in an electricity distribution utility environment
