Engineer – Operations
Our Cooljarloo mine site is located near Cataby, about 170km north of the
CBD. The mine offers a range of lifestyle options including the opportunity to
reside in coastal towns such as Lancelin or Jurien Bay, or alternatively
employees can stay in our single person’s accommodation whilst rostered
on. This position will be offered on Tronox’s 9 day fortnight roste
r.
Which is undertaken as a 5 days on, 2 days off, and 4 days on, 3 days off
roster
First and foremost, as the successful applicant, you will be expected at all
times to promote safety and environmental practices and actively participate in
all supporting programmes. Also it is important that you are able to establish
good working relationships with other personnel at all levels based on mutual
cooperation.
A position is available for candidates with four or more years’
experience in a mineral processing environment supported by relevant
metallurgical or engineering qualifications. A strong commitment to teamwork and
safety, and a proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and
external customers and suppliers is required.
This role reports to the Group Leader Production Engineering, functioning as a
key member of the Mine Operations teams.
Primary duties include:
- Providing
technical direction and support to the Operations department on a daily
basis by monitoring process efficiency, product quality and identifying
process improvements to ensure budgeted targets are achieved. - Supporting
process control strategies to optimise performance and product
consistency. - Managing
the daily duties, project workload and personal development of the Mine
Concentrator Graduate Process Engineer. - Effectively
undertaking project work within deadlines aimed at process improvement and
product development. - Planning,
conducting and co-ordinating laboratory, pilot scale and plant test
programs where required. - Leading
varied project work from concept to commissioning by applying effective
project management processes. - Identifying
new development opportunities to achieve process or product improvements
that increase revenue and/or reduce cost.
