National Forestry Authority (NFA) was established by the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act 2003 to conserve, develop and manage the Central Forest Reserves and to supply quality forestry-related products and services. NFA manages Central Forest Reserves in partnership with Government, private sector and local communities.NFA is seeking to fill the following positions:
POSITION: TRANSPORT ASSISTANTS -LIGHT VEHICLES, HEAVY VEHICLES AND TRACTORS(4 POSTS)
Location: Transferable Reporting to: Transport Officer/ Relevant Field Officer
Salary Grade: 7

Job summary:
The Transport Assistant is responsible for driving, managing and implementing planned and unplanned maintenance of vehicle/ machine allocated to him and ensuring good performance and running of the vehicle/ machine by minimizing frequent breakdown.
Key Responsibilities;
• Driving/operating of assigned vehicle/ machine for official duties and assignments.
• Reporting of technical faults to the supervisor.
• Maintaining basic records regarding the vehicle/machine assigned.
• Keeping the vehicle/machine in good mechanical order
• Carry out daily routine checks, fuelling and basic maintenance of the Vehicle/machine assigned
Job requirement
Minimum Qualifications, experience and skills.
• O’ Level Certificate and above.
• Valid Driving Permit of Classes CM or CH or H
• Must have a clean driving record of similar vehicles.
• Experience of not less than five 5 yrs.
• Training in motor vehicle mechanics and/ or defensive driving will be an added advantage.
• Training in computer and/or fleet management will be an added advantage
• Should not be more than 50 years of age.
