Transmission Operations Engineer Job Vacancy in Rwanda

Our client is a telecommunication company in Rwanda seeking to recruit a result driven and motivated individual for the vacancy above;

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate network rollout in terms of E1 routing and provisioning, Testing and sending loopbacks to NOC to check the continuity of the provision E1 as well as loopback to the terminal site is in synch with the DXU . This must meet the quality standard of the roll out
• For any new link, ensure a 24hour BERT is done and report taken to check the performance of the link
• Audit and keep all inventory lists related to O&M in assigned area, liaise with Network Operations Manager and Logistic for spare and levels and movements and faulty units, spare and repaired items
• Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Transmission Network equipment (Microwave & MUXES)
• Implement transmission expansion and upgrade as and when it is necessary.
• Assist with the design and implementation of Transmission Network, DCN Network, E1 routing to Switch and Switch to other operator interconnect facilities
• Assist with the identification and requisitioning of a minimum level of test equipment to support Transmission Equipment
• Ensure that all faulty transmission equipments under your care are returned to the appropriate place and where necessary sent for repairs through the use of RMA
• Give full support to the RAN Engineers with Transmission troubleshooting and escalate to
• Monitor daily in coordination with RAN Engineers and report on problematic microwave links under your care and act accordingly to prevent outage
• Generate Weekly and monthly Transmission report
• Ensure that all alarms on all transmission Nodes are reported and cleared on time.
• Ensure to keep updating the MUX plan for Transmission Network and DCN Network for all Transmission Nodes
• Ensure that all Transmission Nodes are accessible and manageable from Centralized Management System.
• Ensure that the Server for Transmission Management System is up and running, perform backup per SOX requirement, drive upgrade with IT or vendor support when required
• Act as backup for assigned position
• Be available on mobile phone 24×7 hours
• Work with Transmission planning to ensure Network Synchronization is always at its best level
• Should respond to Emergencies as quickly as possible
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualification and Skills:
• Degree in Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering
• One to two years relevant experience
• Have to be proactive in order to prevent outages of any kind
• Should be a team player with unquestionable integrity
• Should have good planning and organizational skills
• Creative and Innovative
