Trails Youth Initiatives Group Facilitator Job Vacancy in Newmarket, Ontario

Since 1992 we have helped over 1,000 youth from the inner city of Toronto realize their potential. Our unique approach of focusing on an adolescent’s long-term development, over the course of 4 years provides vulnerable youth with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become contributing members of their community. We believe in focusing on the segment of youth who are caught in the middle — not the academics or those already in trouble, instead those who face a questionable and uncertain future because they are ill-prepared, lack support systems and confidence. Every Trails’ student receives year-round support, through
one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer, at our site in Newmarket. We use an integrative and holistic approach to intervention, including experiential based learning, outdoor activities, yoga and mindfulness, where focus is on changing the exterior landscape from the inside out. Our participants receive consistency, a stable environment and mentorship. Over the course of 4 years (with an optional 5th year leadership training program) youth receive the benefit of a support system that sets the foundation for the rest of their lives.
