The
Project Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of Traidlinks’
Market Linked programme in Burundi, ensuring all project objectives and
outcomes are successfully achieved, including gaining an insight and
understanding of the challenges faced by Women in cross border trade.

The
holder of this position is Traidlinks representative in Burundi responsible for
establishing working relationship with client companies; appropriate business
networks, TMEA representatives, peer organisations, NGOs and other relevant
stakeholders. The key responsibilities are:

- Initially
screen & assess companies for export potential - Undertake
Export Capacity Audits - Contract
final selected companies into the Market Linked programme - Identify
capacity gaps and mentor client companies to reach their export potential
and work in collaboration with client companies and service providers to
address the operational gaps - In
collaboration with Market Research & Sales Co-coordinator prepare
client companies to participate on appropriate sales missions - Attend
Sale mission and support client companies to develop Export Action Plan,
with clear targets and time frames
Management
oversight:

- Responsibility
for establishing and management of Traidlinks reputation and business
networks in Burundi - Accountable
for internal Burundi office management & financial management function - Overall
accountability for Traidlinks Burundi purchase & payment process,
petty cash, office accounts, reconciliations & monthly management
accounts etc. - Monthly
reporting including donor reporting and proposal development - Contribute
to strategic thinking on how to develop, improve & streamline
Traidlinks activities and systems to achieve its mission, enhance
financial accountability & ensure value for money. - Be
responsive to market demand and changes to national / regional export
regulatory environment and geo-political events - In
collaboration with the Programme Manager, establish and maintain an
effective database of on client companies, importer and distributions and
business contacts for Burundi - Undertake
regular monitoring and data review of project progress
Qualifications
- A
minimum of 3-5 years’ experience at management level in an INGO - A
University degree in a relevant field - Solid
knowledge of the regional business environment - High
level programme management skills with the ability to manage relationships
with donors, INGO’s, private sector partners and government
institutions - Must
be fluent in French and preferably Kirundi or Kinyarwanda - Working
language within Traidlinks is English
