As our preferred candidate you will encourage responsible solid waste
management and resource recovery in a community that is committed to
environmental stewardship and exemplary community-based services. You
have the technical, administrative and leadership skills to inspire
employee excellence and proactively manage all aspects of the Resource
Recovery business centre. You will develop and administer a
comprehensive program of solid waste management with emphasis on waste
reduction through promotion of recycling, expansion of market for
recycled material, stimulation of community interest in recycling
activities, and collection and disposal of residential and commercial
refuse.
Notable academic achievements such as Certified Public Works
Supervisor or diploma in environmental science or a related field,
plus 8 years of directly related solid waste is coupled with
significant supervisory success in a public works setting. Excellent
public relations, oral and written communications are required, as
well as computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
