PURPOSE
PURPOSE
To
safeguard assets of Tigo Rwanda by identifying inadequate, inefficient, or
ineffective internal controls; identifying risks and recommending mitigation
measures and improvements in the Mobile Financial Services and Entity Level
Controls (ELC).

To
provide proactive risk management support to the Mobile Financial Services
(MFS) business with emphasis on scheduling and facilitating risk management as
well as act as the Risk ambassador for promoting a risk management culture
based on an understanding of risks related to the activities of the business
with an emphasis on prevention.

Ensure
full Compliance with the Internal Control Manual, Policies and around the MFS
business and ELC while acting as a relay of the corporate business control team
to foster all group related initiatives

KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Closely
monitor internal controls around the MFS business and develop effective
risk management policies and procedures for the MFS business and ELC. - Develop
tools and methodologies to support MFS in identifying and managing risks. - Establish
and assist in developing policies and procedures to manage risk within the
company’s acceptable risk ranges for MFS business. - Own
all policies related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer
(KYC), Combating Financial Terrorism and other forms of fraud committed by
customers or agents. - Review
new business proposals and highlight key risks that might impact the
business as well as propose solutions to mitigate these risks where
possible for the MFS business. - Facilitate
the New Product Development process in the MFS business, ensuring new
projects are compliant with control requirements and relevant stakeholders
are involved as required from initiation through to implementation - Ensure
compliance with regulatory requirements for MFS including statutory
reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner. - Assesses
compliance with all applicable regulations by ensuring that the controls
in place cover the risks assessed by the regulators in the MFS business. - Liaising
with Finance department for tax compliance and tax planning within MFS
business. - Assist
in conducting projects on awareness campaigns on the Internal Control
Environment in Tigo Rwanda, and take lead on the MFS related awareness. - Coordinate
Self Assessments Campaigns, ensure timely delivery of results on MFS and
entity level controls processes. - Follow
up remediation of agreed actions for all audits carried out i.e. External
Audit, Internal Audit findings and internal reviews like peer reviews and
self-assessment related to MFS and ELC processes. - Monitor
the Internal Control Maturity of the company as agreed on by management on
MFS. - Support
the Revenue Assurance team in terms of fraud investigations and monitor
fraud related communications, training and education related to MFS
business and ELC. - Ad
hoc requests in regards to controls from CFO and the management. - Continuous
research to enhance the knowledge around risk management and internal
control.
QUALIFICATION
& SKILLS:

- Bachelor’s
Degree in Finance, Economics, IT/Computer Science - ACCA/CPA
part 2 qualification. - Ability
to use auditing procedures and control techniques to meet control
objectives. - Protects
organization’s reputation by keeping information confidential. - Capability
to influence cross-functional teams and to build trust with team, clients,
and internal departments; - Capacity
to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and the dynamic industry
