The Huntington Society of Canada (HSC)
is a national network of volunteers and professionals united in the fight
against Huntington disease (HD). HSC is recruiting a Social Worker to serve the
Southern Alberta area. This is a part-time, 20 hours per week permanent
position, starting on September 2, 2014. Reporting to the Director of Family
Services you will work from a Calgary location.

Responsibilities include:
• Providing support services to individuals and
families
• Facilitating support groups
• Liaising with Multi-disciplinary HD clinics and community services
• Educational presentations
• Record keeping and reporting using
families
• Facilitating support groups
• Liaising with Multi-disciplinary HD clinics and community services
• Educational presentations
• Record keeping and reporting using
an on-line database
• Regional planning, budgeting and office management
• Co-plan the Annual Provincial Therapeutic Retreat
Requirements:
• Professional Social Worker (BSW or MSW) or equivalent
• Registered with Alberta College of Social Workers
• 5 years working experience providing individual/family support and
community education/development
• Experience with progressive neurological diseases preferred
• Ability to work independently
• First Aid and CPR certified
